Q: How much will it cost me to participate in this program?
-
Nothing! You don’t have to buy anything extra, you don’t pay a penny more, and you can make your purchases whenever YOU choose. The reason for its effectiveness is simple: families receive the rebate by making purchases that they would make anyway, for groceries, clothing, gas, etc.
-
-
Q: Will there be more local companies’ participating in the program?
-
We hope so! If you own a company or know someone that does and would like to participate, please ask for a business packet. The business packet will contain necessary forms and information. It is a win/win situation for the retailers and your family. The retailers receive their money up front and your family receives a rebate on the tuition cost.

-
Q: How does the money go toward my families’ tuition?
-
When you purchase your scrip (or gift certificates), the percentage goes directly into your families account. For, you purchase $100.00 worth of grocery scrip (you pay the face value of the scrip), your account is credited with between $3.00 and $5.00 depending on the percentage offered. An administrative fee of 10% will be retained (shipping, supplies, etc) on all orders from the total rebate earned on your account.

Q: What if someone does not have a student attending Penn State, can they buy certificates and have the rebates go toward my families’ account?
-
Yes, they may purchase certificates and designate the money to anyone’s account. This is a great opportunity for grandparents and other family members to help with your families’ cost of college. The easiest way for your family to receive the rebate is to include their certificate order on your order form. Then no additional paperwork will be required.

-
Q: Who do we call and where do we buy the scrip’s that we want?
-
Order forms are available in the Rebate Office and on the school’s web page. All completed order forms are due by Thursday at 10:30 am to the Rebate Office. No late orders are accepted, but can be held for the next order week. Orders are processed every Thursday and will be available the following Wednesday during the semester. If you are unable to pick up your order at the designated time, please call the Scrip office at 814-375-4805 or email Lisa at lal27@psu.edu . When you receive your order envelope, a new order form will be included so that the process can begin again. If you need an extra order form, please download it from the school web site or pick one up in the Rebate Office. The Rebate Office is located on campus in room 115 of the Hiller Building.

-
Q: What happens when Thursday is a holiday or if school is not scheduled?
-
The program will not run that week. Unless we can have a full week of school, we will be unable to run the program. We will then offer walk-in hours where you can walk into the Rebate Office and purchase certificates that we have on hand.
-
-
Q: Can I buy certificates without placing an order?
-
Yes! We have walk-in hours available so that you can stop in and purchase certificates that we have on hand. We usually have the grocery stores and gas certificates available. You do not need to fill out an order form, we have those in the Rebate Office. This method of receiving certificates is called “Advance Orders”, you receive rebates for these orders just like when placing a regular Thursday morning order. So if you forget to order, or just run out of certificates because you miscalculated what you needed, you can stop into the office and purchase the certificates that we have on hand. Please check the Rebate calendars for a schedule of walk-in dates.
