Fall Family Fun Night Draws Crowd
The first Fall Family Fun Night event took place on Friday, October 25, at Penn State DuBois. The event was free to the community and students. Nearly 700 people from the surrounding area came out for the event, including parents and children of all ages. Organized by the Student Life Office, the evening featured Safe Trick or Treat for children ages one to fifteen, a movie, Monsters University plus games and activities for the whole family, including pumpkin decorating. Refreshments were also available.
Marly Doty, assistant director of Student Affairs, organized the event in conjunction with the Student Government Association and other student organizations. She also participated in the event with her children. "The best part was seeing all of the community and children come out for this alcohol-free family event. I think it’s incredible to see this amount of involvement from our students and community,” Doty said.
This event was cosponsored by the Clearfield-Jefferson Drug Free Communities Coalition, Passages and the Penn State DuBois partnership for Prevention.
