The 74th Annual Delta Mu Sigma Honors Convocation at Penn State DuBois recognized outstanding students, faculty, and staff members on Friday night in the campus' Hiller Auditorium. Awards at the Honors Convocation recognize students for a wide range of accomplishments, from academic excellence, to overcoming hardships to succeed.  Members of the staff and faculty were celebrated for their commitment to supporting students and for their service to the campus and community.

"These awards are going to students who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty; the students who always push themselves beyond where they have been comfortable in the past; students who challenge themselves daily to do a better job, to put in that extra bit of effort," said Penn State DuBois Chancellor Melanie Hatch while offering a welcome to the audience.  She then told the awardees, "We are proud of you and honored to be in your presence."

Student and Delta Mu Sigma chairman Adam Snyder commended his peers , saying,

"These many students who receive awards, scholarships, and certificates should be utterly proud of themselves, along with their families, friends, and fellow classmates, because these students have made a difference and made this campus a better place this school year."

Delta Mu Sigma reaches out to DuBois and the surrounding area by offering community service such as a "Dine Out" event at Luigi's Restaurant, with part of the proceeds benefiting scholarship funds.  Members have volunteered with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, and organize a haunted house on campus each Halloween and donate proceeds to local charities.

Around 200 Penn State DuBois students are members of Delta Mu Sigma. In order to qualify for membership, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above, and be involved in campus or community service.
