Penn State DuBois Offers New Courses in St Marys

ST MARYS—Penn State DuBois will offer several new credit courses this fall at the Community Education Council in St. Marys.

"Fall is a good time for anyone interested in furthering their education to begin their educational pursuit," said John Piccolo, Director of Continuing Education for Penn State DuBois. “We are very fortunate to be able to offer our courses at the Community Education Council of Elk and Cameron Counties facility located here in St. Marys.”

For the students convenience, courses are offered in the evening either one or two nights a week.  BB H 143 Drugs, Behavior and Health will help students learn about the health aspects of the use and abuse of licit and illicit drugs; related social problems and prevention.  The course will be taught by Hallie Carlton, Licensed Professional Counselor. 

For business students, Dr. Jack Spillan, Associate Professor of Business Administration and Penn State DuBois business program leader is planning to teach BA 422W Contemporary Business Seminar for students completing the bachelor’s degree in business administration and MKTG 301 Principles of Marketing for students enrolled in either the associate or bachelor’s degree in business.  BA 422W is scheduled on Monday evenings and MKTG 301 will be held on Wednesday evenings. 

For those interested in the arts, French Culture Through Film is planned for Thursdays and the Introduction to Western Literature will be offered on Tuesday evenings. 

Individuals who would like to take an on-line psychology course can enroll in PSYCH 212 (950191) Developmental Psychology and/or PSYCH 281 (950185) Introduction to Industrial-Organizational Psychology taught by Dr. Janet Satterlee, adjunct instructor in Psychology. 

Interested individuals are encouraged to register soon.  There are other courses offered in accounting, communications, science, economics, English, human development, manufacturing, industrial relations, math, business information systems and physics.
