Pennington named as Associate Director of Student Life
DuBois – Rebecca A. Pennington of DuBois has recently been named associate director of student life at Penn State DuBois.
Pennington has been with Penn State DuBois since 1998 and holds a bachelor's degree in human development and family studies and a master's degree in counselor education, both from Penn State University.
As associate director of student life, she is responsible diversity programming, career services, judicial affairs as well as managing the department budget. She also oversees campus clubs and organizations, student activities, cultural events, leadership development and new student orientation. Pennington has previously held the positions of interim financial aid counselor, student life coordinator and interim career services counselor at Penn State DuBois.
She is the recipient of many career-related awards and is a member of the National Association of Campus Activities, the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities and the National Orientation Directors Association. She was also a charter graduate of the Greater DuBois Leadership Institute, which she attended on a Penn State DuBois sponsorship, and now serves on the DuBois Area Chamber of Commerce marketing committee.
She is the daughter of Fred and Mary Ann Strasavich of DuBois and a graduate of DuBois Area High School. Pennington and her husband, Troy, and son, Cameron, live in DuBois.
