Kids in College 2005 a Success
Is it possible for elementary and middle school kids to attend college—and have fun? They can and did during the June 2005 Kids in College program.
More than 500 children in the DuBois and St. Marys area, from Pre-Kindergarten to ninth grade, participated in 46 classes designed to educate, motivate and make learning fun.
Kids in College’s main objectives are to increase student interest and knowledge in the arts, science, and technology and provide challenging experiences outside of the regular school curriculum. Students experience hands-on, fun activities about hot topics that interest them.
“Children who attend classes for the first time almost always come back the next year,” said Sueann Doran, Kids in College Program Coordinator. “They love the activities and the fun they have here.”
