Am I an Adult Student?

Penn State defines an adult learner as a student who is:
  • 24 years of age or older or,
  • a veteran or actively serving member of the armed services; or,
  • returning to school after four or more years of employment, homemaking, or other activity; or,
  • assuming multiple adult roles, such as parent, spouse/partner, employee

Enrolling as an adult student at Penn State DuBois can seem complicated, and you probably have many questions about issues not covered in these pages. How to apply to Penn State DuBois

Step 1

Explore this website to review degrees, certificates, and course offerings.

Step 2

Send all official transcripts to:
Penn State DuBois
Admissions Office
1 College Place
DuBois, PA 15801

Your official transcripts may include:

  • High school transcript or GED
  • Any prior college transcripts
  • Military transcripts

Step 3

Schedule a visit to speak with a DuBois admissions counselor and tour our beautiful campus. It's best to schedule a visit after all of your transcripts have been received by the Admissions Office. Step 4

You can apply for admission to Penn State DuBois online, or you can request a hard copy application by emailing us at duboisinfo@psu.edu.

Step 5

Apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Penn State’s FASFA code is 003329.
