Associate Professor of HDFS

Dr. B.C. Ben Park has been teaching a variety of courses in Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) since he joined the faculty at Penn State DuBois in 2000. His research interests include intergenerational relationships in immigrant homes, ethnic identity of youth in a global context, suicidal behavior, self-development & preservation, and socialization of family values.

Dr. Park earned a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature at Han Nam University in Taejon, South Korea; a bachelor’s degree in sociology at Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, Virginia; a master’s degree in sociology at the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia; and a doctoral degree in sociology at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University in New York.
